I spent my first 24 years surrounded by nature, huge mountains, farmland and cows. I was born in the little village of Simplon-Dorf along the Swiss-Italian border in the Alps. Growing up in a multicultural corner of Europe and traveling since I was young, I am fluent in five languages: Swiss, German, English, Italian and French. In 2016, I made the big step to immigrate to South Africa. Since then, the Mother City is my new home. But, as time moves forward I'm feeling the urge to relocate back into nature and quiet rural areas. 2 years ago I did my diploma in photography in Cape Town. Like in life too in photography I like to go the unconventional way. I want to capture people, things and scenes with an unusual eye. I try to do this in a non provocative way to send a subtle but deep message to the viewer, inspired by spirituality, empowerment and natural beauty. I'm living a yogic lifestyle and spend my free time in nature, reading, cooking, learning more skills and traveling whenever I can. In the future I want to see and experience more of this planet and its inhabitants. I want to put my main focus on deepening my Sadhana (spiritual practices). Currently I'm back in Switzerland working on getting my photography and yoga business started. Isabelle Scotton

Porte di Siena Doors are mystical as they literally create boundaries and in the same way, they "open the door" to someone's home or the world. What is behind doors? What is in front of them and why? Whom does the door belong to? Is he/she at home? I guess we only know, when we have the guts and knock at the door itself... These photographs are the start of a project I've been dreaming off since I first visited Siena in 2014. It's the start of a collection of various doors of the apparently most beautiful town on earth (I can confirm that). Walking through this ancient town, with its beautiful Piazza del Campo, the impressive "palazzi", medieval traditions like the Palio and all the colourful flags of the "Contrade" makes you feel like you travelled back in time to some previous lifetime... The sounds, the scents and the feeling on the skin just are out of this world. Every time I visited in the previous years I've been stunned by these massive and beautiful doors over and over again. Even though it's been the same doors and buildings for over a millennia, there is always something else around them, there is always a new question mark and every time I wish to know the answer.
