I was born in Switzerland with Spanish roots, studied in London, lived in the United States, Canada and other continents. My photographic studio is now located in Spain. Here I work with old cameras and techniques.

    For me Tintype ( a photographic process from the 1860´s ) is a reencounter of a contemporary expression combined with a historical art. In most sessions, I was under time constraints to portray the fishermen as they were either departing or arriving to work, leaving again minutes after I had captured their image. However fleeting these encounters, I always felt grateful to them for giving me a moment of their precious breaks. Respite is brief for these men, especially after a tiring day at sea. Portraying them in their work environment was crucial for this project, granting me access to a truthful essence. I took the images in Tintype, which requires great care and motionless patience from the sitter, it took me three months to capture “Los pescadores de Palma”.     Tintype Photography. Is one of the first methods of Photography who dates back to 1858. On many occasions I mix all my chemicals, like the old times: Silvernitrate, Collodion, Developer and Fixer. I use a lens called Pezval who dates back to 1860. Every Tin, “print” is unique and lasts for ever once it’s varnished. My tin sizes vary from 8x5 to 12x10. And it takes 15 min for each image to be taken. The displayed work is printed on HP photo satin paper 260gr, that is mounted on a Pal-board PVC-plate.
