I have a background in film photography and portraiture. After years of film development, darkroom printing and experiments by mixing up formats and modifying printed film, I applied for the photography master at ECAL, where I explored cutting edge technologies for image creation such as CGI, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Being mixed race in Ticino, I struggled in being perceived and accepted as Swiss. Growing up I had been negating my ethnicity. I evaded my skin by embodying white avatars in video games. Using that same strategy, this project takes the viewers into my skin trough a VR experience and photographic installation.
