Stéphanie Barbetta is a multidisciplinary queer Italian-Swiss artist interested in ‘Traum-a’, a neologism at the heart of her research: Traum means “dream” in German, and what she calls ‘traum-a’ is an uncertain landscape, neither dream nor trauma, but an intermediate space.

I accompany life journeys through portraits and self-portraits, in writing and photography, using a conceptual and raw approach in order to care for the mourning of roots and transform them. This may involve places of life to be left behind,when moving house (Empty home), exile (Exploser d'amour), childhood (Carrying one's childhood and seeing what is born) and internal landscapes of objects.
