I approach photography as a slow and mindful practice.
Making images, for me, is not about capturing moments, but about being present - allowing light, time, and atmosphere to unfold.
Working primarily in black and white, through analog processes and digital monochrome, my practice values slowness, attention, and craft. Sometimes color finds its place as well, when it serves the intention of the image. What matters most is the quality of presence behind the act of photographing.
My work often emerges from long walks, silence, repetition, and time spent in the same places. Nature and certain human environments become spaces for contemplation rather than subjects to document. Each image is shaped patiently, as a trace of an encounter.
My name is Pascal Gauch, also known as Pascou. Based in Fribourg, Switzerland, photography has accompanied me for over thirty years. Through Pascou Photography, I develop long-term projects, printed works, and exhibitions intended for spaces of reflection, well-being, and quiet presence.
