Réka Judit Jaksics
Réka Judit Jaksics, born in Budapest, is a trained concert cellist. In 2021, she began photographing daily and intuitively, with a strong focus on self-portraits and emotional introspection. She has participated in masterclasses with Antoine d’Agata and Roger Ballen. Winner of the IPFO/PHOTOVILLE 2025 Award in the Portrait category. Jury member Dan Winters said: “The photographs are both powerful and sublime. These stunning self-portraits communicate both whimsy and self-reflection. Made in a land of magical solitude. I was happy that photography still has the ability to surprise me.” In 2025 she received the Awagami Factory Prize at the 7th AWAGAMI International Miniature Print Exhibition (A.I.M.P.E.). Through my work, I aim to translate inner states into visible form, to capture the fragile balance between intimacy and universality, silence and expression. For me, art is a way of questioning identity, existence, and transformation. A process of making the invisible visible.
