Daniel Belet

Photographer Retoucher Franco-Swiss born in Rodez, France in 1965. I live and work in Zürich. Digital retoucher for nearly 30 years. I didn’t ever stop practising the photography since my higher studies in Communication in Grenoble in 1987. Indeed, it was with the help of a student loan that I was able to buy my first camera. Later, I made my ranges in the laboratory Picto (in Paris), at the time when it was undertaking its technological transition, passing from the world of argentic to digital. A small revolution that enabled me to master Photoshop but also to work with photographers and artistic directors recognized in the fields of fashion and advertising.

Above the flora, the sky turns to fiery colours, giving the set its graphic nature. The distant fading planes that usually compose a landscape have disappeared, giving birth to black cutout silhouettes. Like the work of a craftsman from the canton of Vaud, who would have meticulously cut out the outlines of a chalet or a cow, we only perceive the silhouettes of the vegetation that populates the Australian Outback. Then a cutout vision of the land appears and almost (sends) beams us into space, had we not both feet on the ground.
