Lorena Lucek
Lorena Lucek is a visual artist based in Zurich, Switzerland. Her concept-driven work engages with unresolved societal and cultural questions, placing them into an open visual framework rather than offering definitive answers. Centered on people and their lived experience, her work develops visual compositions that examine contemporary realities and subtly challenge established norms through shifts in expected representations. Alongside her role as Art Director at a creative agency, Lucek serves as Deputy Managing Editor of the online magazine akut and operates independently, offering artistic and conceptual services.

“Forgive me Mother – I have behaved” is an artistic exploration of the veneration of female icons alongside the simultaneous disregard for real women. Between sacred projection and lived reality, a tension emerges in which patriarchal structures become visible – and begin to dissolve. The work interrogates idealized femininity, the structural coldness behind it, and the quiet yet unstoppable force of resistance. It is an intergenerational exploration of mother and daughter.
