Nikolai Frerichs is a visual Artist from north Germany, graduated in Master of Photography from Ecal in Lausanne 2022, working in the area of still life Photography and CGI and the combination of those. In his photographic work he likes to stage pictures in a elegantly way by paying attention to light, composition and texture. In his 3D work he is interested how humanity, reality and nature represent itself in a limitless environment.

The work "Push/Pull" circles around the question of how to fill the gap between an ideal and the reality. While an artist tries to fill this gap with intellectual, poetic and conceptual artworks, bodybuilders or athletes try to conform their bodies to specific (ancient) ideals. These Incredible effort to run after a goal, using the strategy of repetition, which cannot or just partly be achieved because it might be an idealized idea, is for me romantic and tragic at the same time.
